The Lantern Festival is funded by the Department of Multicultural Affairs in Victoria and organized by the Belink Community Group. The aim is to create a free event to Allowing overseas people with Chinese culture background to regain a sense of festive joy similar to celebrating the Lantern Festival in their hometowns. It also aims to provide Chinese participants and guests from diverse cultural backgrounds with a profound experience of Chinese culture.

All booths at this event are managed by volunteers and non-for-profit organizations. Chinese cultural booths include traditional Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy displays and experiences, Tai Chi performances and experiences, Chinese opera performances and experiences, lantern making and more. Additionally, there are multicultural booths where volunteers from other culture backgrounds will showcase their unique customs during the Lantern Festival. The event also features games such as pitch-pot, ring toss, and lantern riddles. Guests can get various free snacks from all the booth while they having fun.

Free food will be provided for all guests during the event, including dumplings, tangyuan (sweet rice dumplings), fried rice/noodle and more. (limited quantities, first-come, first-served).

During the event, there will be traditional lion dance and Sichuan opera face-changing performances to entertain the guests.
