Meet Your Community and Get Involved!

Express your interest in joining us for the MercyCare Olive Harvest in May. Be part of a tradition dating back to the Benedictine Monks.
Please note that our Multicultural team will be in touch to confirm the date for the event closer to May to ensure optimal harvesting conditions for our olive trees.

About the MercyCare Olive Harvest:

  • Explore one of Western Australia's oldest olive groves
  • Planted by Benedictine Monks, it is now a gift to the Sisters of Mercy
  • Traditionally harvested and pressed on-site, producing award-winning olive oil
  • Funds raised supported crucial causes until harvesting ceased
  • In 2021, we recommenced this tradition, and it continues this year

Volunteer Opportunities:
Some physical work may be required, but there are tasks suitable for every person, regardless of ability level

  • Air Rake Operators
  • Olive Gatherers and Sorters

What the Olives Will Be Used For:

  • Funds raised are used to support refugee and asylum-seeking clients on their employment pathways
  • Benefiting refugee participants through soap making workshops
  • Sold as "Good Habits" to raise funds for the refugee program
