2024 OSA Aria Final

Event description

The singing competition has an important place in the world of opera and has launched the careers of many young artists. Joan Sutherland won one of Australia's most important competitions, The Sun Aria, in 1949. Pavarotti won first prize at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen in 1955, and our Patron in Chief Yvonne Kenny won the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier competition in London in her early twenties. The Opera Scholars Australia Aria Competition takes its place in this important tradition. It puts the winning Scholar on the path to greatness, while offering incredible learning opportunities for our entire competing cohort.

Under the chandeliers in the sumptuous surrounds of the Hawthorn Arts Centre, four finalists will battle it out to win a $2000 scholarship to further their studies. Our entire cohort will also enchant you with divine choruses from La Clemenza and Nixon in China while adjudicator Patrick Togher decides on the winner

Don't miss this chance to support the incredible talent of our four finalists - to be able to say 'I was there, when...' as our top Scholars go on to have glittering international careers. Get your tickets now and be a part of a night to remember in the world of opera!

Performance commences at 7pm with a 20 minute interval. We will crown the winner at 10pm!
