Topic: Shrubby Samphire Recovery Plan
Hear from Peri Coleman about the Shrubby Samphire Recovery Plan being developed to assist with habitat for the Samphire Thornbill, found on Torrens Island, and Barker Inlet then north along Gulf St Vincent.
Learn why the plan is needed, the current project (soil studies and initial restoration plan) and the opportunity to trial various reproductive techniques at Mutton Cove, to inform larger projects on Torrens Island and elsewhere. Planting/stabilisation on the sand fans at Mutton Cove could slow erosion rates of the surrounding banks.
