Queensland Kendo Renmei invites you to the Queensland Kendo Summer Seminar & Grading Examination!


Seminar

Chief Instructors:

  • Mr. Terazono Makoto Sensei - Kyoshi 8 Dan (Nara)

Date/time:   Saturday 7th December 8:30am – 5pm & Sunday 8th December 8:30am – 12:30pm

Who can attend - Current QKR members, AKR affiliate members and FIK affiliate* members are welcome to attend.

Cost:               $42.50 to $95

Early bird tickets are avialable. Offer end 30th September at 23:55 (limited numbers apply). Concession tickets are also available for eligible members.

  • - Lunches can be purchased at registration time ($15 bento boxes).
  • - Please note that all participants must be a current financial AKR members (at time of registration) or FIK Affiliate members (international FIK Affiliate members must have travel insurance).


Grading Examination

Date/time:                      Sunday 8th December/1- 4pm

Grading offered:           Kendo 3 Kyu to 1 Kyu, 1 Dan to 4 Dan.

Grading levels to be confirmed based on grading panel availability.

Registration:                  Please follow the steps below

  1. Submit your signed Grading Application Form (found here: akr_grading_applcation_form QKR - 2024_08_12.pdf) to Grading@qkr.asn.au by 5pm, 15 November 2024 to be eligible to be examined. No late submissions will be accepted.
  2. Pay your grading fees via https://events.humanitix.com/2024-queensland-kendo-summer-grading-examination-grading-registration-and-payment  

Dan grading written examination questions will be posted on the QKR website and emailed to registered applicants at a later date.

Current QKR members, AKR affiliate members and FIK affiliate* members are eligible for the grading examination.

* A foreign candidate must complete an AKR Grading Application Form and provide a letter of approval from the President of their FIK affiliated body requesting permission for the person to attend the Examination. The letter must include the following information:

  1. That the candidate is a current financial member of that body;
  2. When and where the candidate's current grade was obtained;
  3. A copy of the current Grading Certificate; and
  4. A statement that the candidate has trained continuously for the required time.


Seminar and Grading Examination Location:

Tallebudgera Sport and Recreation Centre, 1525 Gold Coast Hwy Palm Beach, QLD 4221.

Parking is available onsite, or public car parks in surrounding areas.

Accommodation:

Budget accommodation available onsite (bunk style cabins with ensuite bathrooms) for family bookings or for small groups. There are:

  • 6-person cabins ($110.45 per cabin per night),
  • 4-person cabins ($110.45 per cabin per night), and
  • two-bedroom cabins [3 king single bed per each room] ($138.10 per cabin per night).
  • Iinen packs $13.60 per person
