2024 Queensland Philanthropy Awards with Ash Barty

The Honourable Margaret McMurdo AC, Chair of Queensland Community Foundation’s Board of Governors, invites you to join us in celebration of Queensland Giving at the 2024 Queensland Philanthropy Awards.

Established by the Honourable Mike Ahern AO in 1997, Queensland Community Foundation is a community giving fund that has become a much-loved and respected Queensland icon, providing ongoing funding to charities throughout the State, in perpetuity, through Queensland Gives.

The prestigious 2024 Queensland Philanthropy Awards Lunch will be held in the main auditorium of Brisbane City Hall on Friday 7 June in the presence of hundreds of Queenslanders passionate about giving back to Queensland including prominent government representatives, community and business leaders as well as incredible individuals who inspire us all to 'make a difference' however we can.

Over lunch Queensland Gives' good friends Nicholas Marchesi OAM and Lucas Patchett OAM, Co Founders of Orange Sky Australia, will MC the awards before our guest speakers Ash Barty AO and her father Rob Barty join us to chat about their work with the newly established Ash Barty Foundation.

More about Ash: Australian Ashleigh Barty was a professional tennis player on the Women’s Tennis Association tour from 2011 to 2022. Regarded as one of the sport’s most naturally talented players, Ash’s game style and ability to play a wide variety of shots set her apart from her opponents. With her signature humility, confidence to guide her own path and commitment to being a good person, she became a role model for many. Ash announced her retirement from professional tennis in March 2022. Ranked WTA World No. 1 and with three Grand Slam singles titles to her name, she departed from the sport as one of the most accomplished players ever. Ash is committed to creating sport and education opportunities for youth in communities around Australia through the Ash Barty Foundation.
