2024 SA State Games Opening Ceremony

Our State Games is the highest-level of sport competition in South Australia where athletes with intellectual disabilities and autism can come together to compete and showcase their incredible abilities and sportsmanship. This year, our SA State Games will include more sports than ever before! 

• Bring together our entire State network
• Congratulate and support our athletes and to wish them well at their upcoming sport competitions.
• Celebrate the contribution that our State volunteers and clubs do on behalf of our athletes.
• Outline the format for the State Games
• Recognise sponsors, partners and contributing external organisations
•Welcome our wider Interstate Special Olympics members, local affiliates and participants who are involved.


Key Timings:
•Event open from for athletes & spectators from 4:30pm
•Opening Ceremony: 5.15pm
•Event finish: by 8pm

Uniform/Attire:
All volunteers and athletes are asked to wear Black trousers/pants along with black shoes

T shirt/polo tops as follows:
•2024 SA registered Volunteers - SOSA Yellow tops
•2024 SA registered Athletes - SOSA branded program top

Athletes/Participants who don't have a SOSA branded program top:

•Young people (under 18) - Variety SA/SOSA duel branded top - email info.sa@specialolympics.com.au if you need one
•Individuals over 18 - SOSA program top or generic SOSA top from our Blackchrome webshop or existing SOSA top that you have

•Supporters/Spectators - No requirements specifically but for those who wish to purchase a SOSA supporter top please visit the Blackchrome Webshop

Food/Refreshments:

• Individuals are able to bring in a snack and soft drink into the premises. 
• A range of refreshments are available to be purchased at the venue through the Kiosk/Food outlets in the main foyer area.


Special Olympics non-registered participants

This event is open to all, including family and friends  and invite everyone who is involved with Special Olympics SA in some way to come down and join us for the event!
