The School of Music invites you to attend our 2024 Research Symposium, a vibrant platform for students and staff to explore the theme of Music and Innovation. This event will feature insightful presentations, dynamic lightning talks and engaging poster sessions. Topics will cover rich and diverse fields of music research and encourage a variety of perspectives, including musicology and music theory, psychology of music, practice-based and practice-led approaches, music education, performance and composition.

We are honoured to welcome Professor Emery Schubert and Dr Eloise Doherty as our keynote speakers. Their expertise spans the psychology of music, emotion, aesthetics, music education and auditory processing, offering valuable perspectives on this year’s theme.
