2024 Swamp Fest - Community Planting Day
Event description
THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY COMMUNITY EVENT
Join the Friends of Stipiturus and Hesperilla Conservation Parks to plant native trees and shrubs for the endangered Mount Lofty Ranges Southern Emu-wren and help expand populations of several threatened plant species.
- Location - Stipiturus Conservation Park, Beare Lane, Mt Compass. Please do not enter the park until you have registered and sprayed your footwear at the gate.
- Travel - If you know someone else going, consider car pooling. Follow Victor Harbor Rd towards Mount Compass township. Turn on to Lanacoona road just north of Mount Compass (near Harvest the Fleurieu). From here there are two options: 1) take either Simpson Rd on the left, continue until it turns into Beare Lane and follow to meeting point ; or 2) continue on Lanacoona rd, turn left on to Saffrons Rd and follow to meeting point (road becomes Beare Lane). Unsealed roads so drive carefully.
- Clothing and footwear - As it is an outdoor event, ensure you are wearing weather appropriate clothing, shoes and hat. We will be walking short distances throughout the day with frequent stops, and this may include uneven surfaces.
- Food and refreshments - Please bring your own water/water bottle and a coffee cup. We will provide morning tea and lunch so provide your dietary requirements during your registration.
If you would like to bring your own seat or folding chair to use during lunch, you are more than welcome to bring one.
