2024 Year 12 Graduation
Event description
Year 12 Students and their families are warmly invited to celebrate the Marist College Ashgrove Graduating Class of 2024. Please read the below details carefully for an overview of the day.
GRADUATION DAY MASS &Â FAREWELL
Overview of the Day:
9:00am – Arrival / Doors Open | Champagnat Centre
9:30am – Graduation Mass | Champagnat Centre
10:45am – Guard of Honour | Champagnat Centre to McMahon Oval
11:15am – Oval Presentation | McMahon Oval
12:00pm – Event Concludes
The farewell will conclude at approximately 12:00pm. Year 12 students and their families may then depart the College to prepare for the evening celebrations.Â
Graduates:Â
- RSVP - Graduating students are not required to book a ticket for the day activities as they will be allocated seats alongside their fellow graduates for both Mass and the Oval Presentation.
- Catering -Â Light refreshments including water will be provided for the Year 12 students on McMahon Oval.
- Dress - Full winter uniform including long pants, blazer and formal hat. As it is usually very warm, blazers need only be worn during processions and other formal moments.
Parents/Guardians:
- RSVP - This event is open to all free of charge. For catering and seating purposes, we kindly request attendance be confirmed by 10am Monday, 4 November.
- Catering -Â Light refreshments including water will be provided for Parents/Guardians on McMahon Oval.
- Dress - Comfortable smart casual attire. It is also advisable to bring a hat, fan, umbrella, and a water bottle for the times you may be in the sun. You may wish to also consider your footwear, as you will be walking from the Champagnat Centre to McMahon Oval.
Extended Family:
- RSVP - This event is open to all free of charge. For seating purposes, we kindly request attendance be confirmed by 10am Monday, 4 November. Please note, only Parents/Guardians and the 2024 Graduates will be seated on the oval during the Oval Presentation, an area in the Grandstand will be reserved for extended family in attendance.
- Catering - The Grandstand Canteen will be open for extended family to purchase refreshments.
- Dress - Comfortable smart casual attire. It is also advisable to bring a hat, fan, umbrella, and a water bottle for the times you may be in the sun. You may wish to also consider your footwear, as you will be walking from the Champagnat Centre to McMahon Oval.
Brothers of Graduating Students who attend Marist College Ashgrove:
- RSVP - Younger Brothers are encouraged to attend the day celebrations with their families. Brothers of graduating students are expected to attend pastoral group to get their attendance marked off and are then invited to join their families at Mass in the Champagnat Centre. To assist with attendance recording, please provide their details when booking. Brothers of graduating students may either sit with their extended family members or their Pastoral Group in the Grandstand for the Oval Presentation. Brothers of Graduating students are required to return to class after the Oval Presentation unless the College has been notified otherwise.
- Catering - The Grandstand Canteen will only be available to guests and extended families. The boys will be able to purchase food from the tuckshop during break times.
- Dress -Â Summer Uniform.
Parking and Transport:Â
Please note that onsite parking will not be available and street parking is limited, please consider alternative travel arrangements. Please also note that O’Connell Place (adjacent to the Frasers Road entrance to the College) is private Australian Defence property and fines may be issued for parking illegally.

GRADUATION DINNER
An invitation to Year 12 Students and their Parents/Guardians is extended to Graduation Dinner. Unfortunately due to limited capacity we are unable to accommodate extended family members.
Overview of the Evening:
5:30pm-6:30pm – Photograph Stations Open for Family Photos | Plaza Ballroom Concourse, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
6:00pm – Doors Open | Plaza Ballroom, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
6:30pm – Dinner | Plaza Ballroom
Ticketing:
Tickets for this event are $140.00 per person. All attendees, including graduating students are required to purchase a ticket. The ticket includes a two-course meal and non-alcoholic beverages. Please purchase your tickets by 10:00am Monday, 4 November 2024.
Seating:
Families are asked to please combine with two other families to form a table of nine guests. Please nominate the three students (first and last name) who will be seated together when prompted during the ticket purchasing process. Attendees are limited to graduating students and their parents/guardians. Alcohol:
As this is a College function, students are not permitted to consume alcohol on the evening, regardless of their age. A cash bar will be available, should guests over the age of 18, who are not students of the College, wish to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Dress Code
- Students: Full winter uniform, including long pants and blazer
- Guests: Cocktail attire
Photography:
Professional photographers will be taking family photographs in the foyer prior to the event between 5:30pm-6:30pm. Photos will be available to purchase after the event. An email with further details will be sent prior to the event.
