Reflective Practice - ONE DAY COURSE (28 Aug)
Event description
Awareness, analysis, insight
We do not learn from experience.
We learn from reflecting on that experience.
– John Dewey
Reflective Practice is the habit of deliberatively and actively analysing our experiences in order to improve and develop.
A habit common to most of the world’s trailblazing leaders, reflective practice is a skill anyone can learn and is of particular benefit to leaders, educators and health practitioners.
Whether it be a professional triumph or unexpected disaster, many of us simply move on from our life experiences. However, it is the act of proactive critical reflection that allows us to reap the potential benefits and utilise the opportunities for improvement.
This course explores the nature and benefits of reflective practice and teaches participants a suite of skills and approaches that can be applied in the workplace across a range of industry settings.
Topics include:
- Understanding proactive reflection
- Capturing the benefits of our lived experience
- Models and methods
- Incident analysis
- Gibbs Reflective Cycle
- Reflective tools: thinking, writing and debriefing
- Collective reflection
- Reflective Practice for Emotional Intelligence and Self Awareness
This course includes:
- Engaging, up-to-date materials.
- Take-home resource package.
- All day catering and beverages - with dietary needs catered for.
