Accessibility Awareness Tour 2025 – Emu Park

🎯 Goal: Show why it’s important to make communities accessible for everyone.

How: You will have an opportunity to briefly experience barriers by using a wheelchair, vision impairment glasses, noise cancelling headphones etc to mimic disability challenges while navigating the tour.

🧩 Accessibility Challenge:

People who join in can try different accessibility challenges throughout the tour.

This will help:

✔ Council, businesses, and community members understand the challenges of life with disability and/or barriers

✔ Show why good access is important.

🎉 The Tour:

The tour will be fun and informative and provide an opportunity to broaden people’s awareness of disability.

We will talk about:

💬 how to make places more inclusive

✅ examples of good access

⚠ areas that need improving.

👥 Have Lived Experience?

People with disability are encouraged to join.

Your stories and experiences will help others learn.

Lunch and light refreshments provided at the conclusion of the tour.
