You're warmly invited to the Kindred Garden Party: a joyful afternoon in honour of International Human Rights Day and the announcement of the 2025 Arts Peace Award.

This year is significant. 2025 marks 80 years since the end of World War II, the Holocaust, and the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki—a solemn milestone that reminds us: peace is not inherited. It’s chosen, protected, and passed on.  

Today, that choice is being made in real time—from Gaza to Sudan, Myanmar to Ukraine—where artists and communities continue to speak truth, resist erasure, and demand dignity. The Arts Peace Award celebrates those who do this vital work with courage, creativity, and unwavering hope.

But this is also a celebration—because joy is resistance too.

A Musical Offering for Peace

We’re thrilled to share a soulful lineup of performers who embody the spirit of Kindred connection, resilience, and shared humanity.  

✨ Monique Hapgood — a voice of grace and depth — will be joined by the gifted Josh Van Konkelenburg on piano for an intimate, evocative set.  

✨ And with profound honour, we welcome Reem Daou and the Sarat Band— a trio of generous, passionate young musicians keeping tradition alive in Adelaide.

✨ A Taste of Türkiye, Thoughtfully Shared

Curated by the wonderful Nar Delights, our sumptuous Turkish-inspired menu is a celebration of flavour, tradition, and misafirperverlik, the deep-rooted Turkish spirit of hospitality, where the guest is sacred and the table is a place of trust.

Every dish invites connection:  All thoughtfully prepared with vegan and gluten-free options, because everyone belongs at this table.

🔸 Meze-style dips — hummus, smoky eggplant, and vibrant broad bean with dill — served for sharing
🔸 Flaky börek parcels (beef or spinach-feta), baked to golden perfection
🔸 Hearty salads and spiced çiğ köfte (vegan!) arranged family-style
🔸 Sweet finales of rose-pistachio and biscuit-hazelnut baklava
