The Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys' Association (BGSOBA) cordially invites the BGS Community to the Ashes Cricket Breakfast 2025.
The 2025/26 summer of cricket bodes to be a most entertaining summer filled with rivalry and friendly banter, headlined by the five-match Ashes series between Australia and England. Join us as we hear from former Australian Test Cricketer #389, Simon Katich.

Dress code: Business (Men: Jacket, with tie recommended). Attendees must ensure they adhere to Tattersalls' dress code.
Simon Katich
A veteran of 56 Test matches, Simon Katich carved out a stellar international career with over 4,000 runs at an average of 45.03, including 10 Test centuries. His grit and determination were never more evident than during the Ashes, where his 2009 Cardiff century became a defining moment of resilience and resolve in one of cricket’s greatest rivalries.
Now a sought-after coach in elite global competitions, including roles with Royal Challengers Bangalore, MI Cape Town, and currently as head coach of the Manchester Originals in The Hundred, Simon brings a wealth of experience and unique perspective on the evolution of the game. He is also a respected cricket analyst with SEN Radio and the Seven Network.
This is a fantastic opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the sharpest minds in cricket, as he reflects on the highs and challenges of Ashes battles, Test match preparation, and the modern state of the game.
