2025 CBR Local Regen Forum
Event description
‘Developing Direct-to-Market Models for Farmers in the Canberra Region’
Join us for the 2025 CBR LOCAL REGEN Forum, a must-attend event for CBR regional farmers, producers, organisations and policymakers who are passionate about a resilient local food system. This forum is about connecting local regenerative farmers with local consumers — building direct-to-market models that strengthen our region’s food security and economy.
The event will share knowledge on the benefits of regenerative products and what this means for market opportunities, followed by interactive discussion with local farmers and marketers who have successfully developed direct-to-market models. You will gain valuable insights on the ‘why to’ and ‘how to’ of marketing regeneratively produced food, while forming connections with potential collaborators and partners across the local supply chain. The event is focused on learning from the experience of others, creating opportunities and actionable outcomes. If you farm in the Canberra region, you won't want to miss this event!
Hosted by ACTNRM - Sustainable Agriculture and supported by the ACT Rural Landholders Association of Farmers, this forum will be the premier event to guide the future direction for Canberra's regional farming community to value produce and develop networks in 'Direct to Market' sales.
The program will include:
- Keynote speakers Walter Jehne, Dianne Haggerty, Tammi Jonas and Lucy Ridge
- Panel discussions Direct to Market access with Cressida Cains, Sam Johnson, Vince Heffernan and Adam Lilleyman
- Interactive breakout sessions to co-develop strategies and solutions
- Catering featuring local produce throughout the day
- Networking opportunities with stakeholders across the food system
The event will conclude with light refreshments and networking opportunities.
The ACT Rural Landholders Association is also planning an optional post-event dinner independent from the Future drought fund and ACT Government, pending sufficient interest from attendees. This is a great ‘networking with a purpose’ opportunity to meet others who are interested in developing local supply and markets.
