2025 DART Symposium
Event description
Join us for the first annual DART symposium.
The symposium will consist of speakers including Dr. Stacey Rudd from The University of Melbourne presenting "Metal Radionuclides in Theranostics; Past, Present and Future Perspectives". We'll also hear from the DART Deputy Directors, the postdoctoral fellows, and representatives from our ANSTO, Cyclotek, iPHASE, and Liverpool Hospital partners.
Both days will offer a blend of educational talks and professional skill development sessions.

Keynote: "Metal Radionuclides in Theranostics; Past, Present and Future Perspectives" presented by Stacey Rudd, University of Melbourne
Nuclear medicine has existed since the 1940s, but the clinical approval of a handful of new metal-based radiopharmaceutical agents in the last few years has thrust the field into the spotlight. Now that radiopharmaceuticals have caught everyone’s attention, what are the future directions in this rapidly growing area? This presentation will give an overview of the history of metal radiopharmaceuticals, highlighting some of the field’s successes and failures over the last few decades, as well as exploring emerging ideas for the next steps in radiopharmaceutical development. Using examples from my own research, I will present a chemist’s perspective of the development of radiopharmaceutical agents, from initial chemical synthesis through to clinical translation.
