2025 Exhibition Selector talk - Tales from the West Coast

Ian and Sue work as potters at Kotuku Pottery on the West Coast. Their joint creative endeavours span many years, their pieces range from domestic ware and large and small figurative coil work. Their characteristic glazes and firing style (which has included both coal and gas) result in stunning, one off pieces as well as a range of domestic pottery. Their workshop the following day includes mastering the art of a comfortable handle, lids and lips, as well as decoration for domestic pottery that includes slip application and coilwork.
