2025 HCSA Regional History Lecture & Local History Forum: Renmark and the Riverland

Location: Hotel Renmark
Join the History Council of South Australia in Renmark for a day of panels, discussions, and a keynote lecture exploring the Riverland’s histories and connections to broader state and national stories.
The program will feature:
Local History and Heritage Panel – with representatives from Riverland and regional historical societies and heritage organisations.
State and National Resources Panel – showcasing the wealth of archival, library, and oral history collections available for local research.
The Annual Regional History Lecture will be delivered by Dr Craig Westell the River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC).
Q&A, networking, and opportunities to connect with colleagues and community members.
Additional features include:
Displays and brochures from local history groups and state institutions.
Opportunities for tours and walks in the afternoon and on the following day (the 10th of October).
Optional dinner at the Hotel Renmark for further networking and conversation.

Historians, students, local society members, family history researchers, and anyone interested in South Australia’s rich Riverland (and beyond) histories.
