Event description

MAP 2025: Empower • Connect • Enrich
Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 November
Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC), Katherine

For the first time, the Meeting of Arts Professionals (MAP) is heading to Katherine, in the heart of the Big Rivers region of the Northern Territory. This year’s conference will take place on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 November 2025 at the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC). Hosted by Arts NT, MAP is an industry event that brings together artists, arts workers, organisations, and key stakeholders from across the Territory. It provides a vital platform to strengthen leadership, share knowledge, and encourage collaboration. Held over two days, MAP offers valuable face-to-face connection and meaningful exchange that contributes to the growth and sustainability of the Northern Territory’s creative sector.

Guided by the Northern Territory Arts Strategy 2034, MAP 2025 is centred around the themes of Empower, Connect and Enrich. These themes reflect a shared commitment to building a strong, creative and culturally diverse arts sector; deepening the connection between arts, culture and community; and celebrating the value of Territory arts in shaping a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient creative economy. The 2025 program will feature a dynamic mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, live performances, and networking opportunities. All sessions will run between 8.30am and 4.30pm daily, with optional social activities and events in the evenings.

MAP 2025 is a free event to attend, and participants will receive lunch, tea, and refreshments on both days of the conference. Please only register if you intend to attend. As capacity is limited and demand is high, we ask that you commit to the full two days of the conference. If your plans change and you’re no longer able to attend, please let the MAP team know as soon as possible so your place can be offered to someone else.

If you’re travelling from outside of Katherine and would benefit from travel and accommodation support, you may be eligible to apply for funding through Arts NT’s Professional Development grant to assist with your attendance at MAP 2025. This support is designed to help Northern Territory artists and arts workers participate in the event, with a focus on building their capacity and raising their profile as arts and cultural leaders.
