2025 Queensland Kendo Winter Grading Examination - REGISTRATION and PAYMENT

Queensland Kendo Renmei Winter Grading Examination - July 2025

A grading examination will be held on Sunday 6th July 2025. This is open to current financial members of the AKR and FIK Affiliate members. 

To be eligible you must meet the time-in-grade and minimum qualifications for the grade you are attempting.

We are planning to hold grading examination as per the below, however this is subject to panel member availability.

• Kendo from Kendo 3 Kyu to Yondan
• Iaido from 3 Kyu to Yondan
  
• Jodo - No grading due to lack of panel members.

N.B. Kyu grading offered is 3 Kyu, 2 Kyu and 1 Kyu ONLY. (4, 5, 6 Kyu grading is NOT available).

The grading will take place on Sunday between 1pm - 4pm:

• 1pm - registration (all arts)
• 1:30pm - Iaido examination
• 2:30pm - Kendo Kyu examination
• 3pm - Kendo Dan examination
  

Important!

Closing date for receiving grading applications is 5pm 22 June 2025.

To apply for grading examination follow these 2 steps:

1. Submit your signed Grading Application Form (found here: akr_grading_applcation_form QKR - 2024_08_12.pdf) to Grading@qkr.asn.au by 5pm 22 June 2025 to be eligible to be examined. No late submissions will be accepted.
2. Pay your grading fees via THIS registration/payment system (i.e. purchase tickets).

Venue Access - Gold Coast Recreation Precinct (Tallebudgera Sport and Recreation Centre), 1525 Gold Coast Hwy Palm Beach, QLD 4221.

Parking is limited - ensure you give yourself plenty of time to find suitable parking.
