Join us on October 11, 2025, at the historic Village Studio as SONA hosts its annual Songwriter Summit, a day designed to educate, inspire, and empower. Marking SONA’s 10th anniversary, this gathering isn’t just a look back at how far we’ve come, but a glimpse into the future of songwriting and advocacy. Featuring panels that cut to the core of today’s challenges and opportunities, conversations with industry leaders, SONA Member break out meetings with TikTok representatives, and a keynote from Congressman Maxwell Frost, the Summit is a rare chance to connect, learn, and stand together as a community of creators. TikTok Sessions:
Do you have questions about TikTok? Come sit down with Emily Mitchell who leads TikTok's Music Publishing and Songwriter partnerships. These small group sessions for SONA Members can be used to review your account/content, chat through best practices, or ask any questions you might have!
Credit Where It’s Due (Possibly Credits Due initiative in partnership with DIMA, IVORS, Recording Academy?)
This panel features representatives from DIMA, The Recording Academy, The MLC, and CD Baby discussing songwriters getting proper credit + compensation. This session unpacks publishing splits, backend royalties, metadata issues and solutions and what advocacy initiatives need attention.
TikTok Interviews KOLE:
Curious about how to maximize TikTok as a songwriter, but don't know where to start? Want to learn about the tools available to songwriters on TikTok? Come hear it straight from KOLE, a Grammy-nominated songwriter who has successfully built an audience on the platform.
Advocacy in Action
Copyright is being threatened from multiple directions and we need global and federal initiatives to protect it. SONA Government Affairs Lead will lead a frank conversation about the state of affairs in Washington for creators and what Songwriters do to affect change.
Annual SONA Membership Address:
This is SONA’s 10th Anniversary! We’ll cover highlights ranging from membership benefits to advocacy and opportunites over this past year at SONA and we’ll look at where SONA is headed next.
