2025 Trinity College International Women's Day Breakfast: March Forward... Together
Event description
Trinity College invites you to celebrate International Women's Day 2025 by joining the College community for breakfast. The event will celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness for women's economic empowerment, and take action for equity and equality.
Attendees will enjoy a light breakfast and insightful presentation from our wonderful guest speaker: Jenny Cole, Founder and CEO of Positively Beaming.
March Forward... Together
In her presentation Jenny will talk about how the subtle differences between how women and men act and how they are perceived is still a barrier to equality, in their careers, in sport and even in relationships. She will speak about these differences and need for boys, men AND other women to be allies rather than 'enemies' so we can all march forward, together.
About Jenny Cole
Jenny is an accredited coach and experienced facilitator. She is the founder and CEO of Positively Beaming. Prior to establishing her company, she was a school principal for 12 years, and she worked with the most challenging students in special education and mainstream settings. After giving to everyone else she became burnt out and walked out on the career she loved. She has devoted the last 15 years to ensuring that women in school leadership have the knowledge, skills and mindsets to lead in a way that doesn’t come at the expense of their own mental health. Jenny is passionate about leadership effectiveness in schools. She has facilitated the Leading with Authenticity program for the Department of Education and Catholic Education WA since 2016. In 2024 she was awarded the Australian Council of Educational Leaders Fellowship for her contribution to leadership development. She shares her practical wisdom in a variety of courses online and in person as well as through her podcast Positively Leading.
#MarchForward
In 2025, the UN Women Australia IWD theme is ‘March Forward'.
Thirty years ago, the world committed to a bold vision for gender equality, the United Nations' Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Since then, we’ve seen women break barriers, reshape policies, and ignite global movements. Yet, despite these strides, the promises made remain largely unfulfilled for millions of women worldwide. We are simply not where we should be. It’s time to turn promises into progress, and #MarchForward for a gender equal future.
Our chosen charity for 2025 - Share the Dignity
This year, Trinity College is fundraising for Share the Dignity, an Australian charity working to ensure no one is forced to face the indignity of period poverty when at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or poverty. Funds raised from our event will help Share the Dignity distribute period products to women, girls, and anyone with a period who needs support.
