Individual concert details
TWO'S COMPANY - 11 FEBRUARY What better way to start the year than with the love-bird directors, Trish & Paul Dean. But there's no soppiness here, they'll be performing the world premiere of Trish's new daring arrangement of the Ravel duo, along with the soothing sounds of Bach.
OLD FRIENDS - 8 APRIL One of Australia's most adored jazz musicians and composers, Joe Chindamo has been friends with Trish for 20 years and they unite in swarthy tango-infused dimly lit evening of Piazzolla and others played on accordion & cello, joined by Paul Dean and Phoebe Russell. Anything can happen at this one.
BACH AT THE BAR, ARRANGED - 27 MAY Oboe, clarinet and bassoon unite in an exquisite take on Bach’s organ sonatas, the cello takes on the Chaconne, the bassoon steals a cello prelude and the oboe stands alone in a flute sonata. This will be special.
WHEN HARRY MET PHOEBE - 23 SEPTEMBER When Harry met Phoebe a special friendship was born. These two incredibly gifted, virtuosic players hold top jobs in the QSO and SSO, so don't get to play together nearly enough. We're fixing that.
HARPING ON - 14 OCTOBER Australia's newest darling of the harp, Emily Granger presents a stunning program of ethereal harpiness, entertainingly delivered and joined by oboist Huw Jones and flautist Alison Mitchell for a few very special duos.
