Professional outcomes and performance are always determined by the quality of our decision making. Yet most of us were never taught this fundamental skill and lack evidence-based processes to draw upon, even when facing critical decisions, with profound implications.
This course explores the process of decision making and how to approach choices strategically. From classic tools such as De Bono’s Six Hats, to Values-driven contemporary approaches, the course focuses on quality decisions which help us attain goals.
Participants will learn how to make ethical, outcomes-oriented decisions and will be provided with a range of tools and processes which can be applied to real world situations.
Topics include:
- Types of decisions
- Distilling meaningful information
- Evaluating choices and predicting consequences
- Collaborative decisions
- Rational vs intuitive approaches
- Tools for analysing options
- Remaining outcomes-oriented
- Techniques and strategies for better results
