Event description

THE RESPECT FOR PEOPLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE - 11 WEEK ONLINE PROGRAM - BEGINS August 5th, 2025

Inspired by the Toyota Way management philosophy, the Respect for People Roadmap is a learning experience designed to improve the way organizations perform as a collective by improving the way its people think and interact as individuals. Curriculum focuses on:

  • Diffusing the judgment that creates conflict, skews decision-making, and erodes team dynamics.
  • Helping individuals recognize and build on the resources they have in each other.
  • Cultivating connection to break down siloes and enable collaboration and innovation.
  • This program is appropriate for every member of the organization from the C-suite to front line employees.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Introduction

This section prepares participants for the journey by introducing them to two key practices used throughout the journey.

Engage with Compassion

  • Seeing coworkers and their circumstances more objectively.
  • Diffusing judgement related negativity that skews decision making and problem solving, and strains team dynamics.

Treat People like they Matter

  • Seeing the distinct contributions each employee makes to the organization's success
  • Gaining a stronger awareness of coworkers' influence on our working experience
  • Practicing the recognition that strengthens teams and deepens engagement

Partner for Mutual Benefit

  • Learning the key elements of collaboration that improve connection and build trust.
  • How to engage others to better identify and address issues
  • Seeking input from a variety of sources to create more balanced and comprehensive solutions

Better

  • Reflecting on the journey and developing a 90 action plan to put the learnings into practice.

Who is the ideal audience for this course?

The Respect for People Roadmap is particularly suited for companies with an interest in becoming more people centric. As such, this course was created to support all levels of the organization. From front line employees who are engaged in or learning about Continuous Improvement efforts, to operations leaders who want to learn and apply the building blocks of employee engagement.

This program is ideal for organizations in any industry pursuing operational excellence or otherwise looking to improve their culture.

Time Commitment

11 week program

6 - 90 minute live virtual sessions called Roadside Reflections

Roadside Reflections are the heart of the Respect for People Roadmap learning experience. They are live, 90-minute cohort sessions that take place every few weeks, offering participants a space to pause, reflect, and connect in meaningful dialogue. These sessions turn individual learning into shared understanding. Your presence in these sessions matters. They’re where individual growth becomes shared momentum, and where the path forward is shaped by the stories and reflections we bring to the circle.

30 hours of asynchronous independent work and 6 hours of peer-to-peer cohort team work

The time between each Roadside Reflection is where the core individual learning takes place. This asynchronous period allows participants to absorb new ideas, explore tools, and begin practicing new behaviors—all on a schedule that fits within their daily responsibilities. Each module is delivered through a series of 5–15 minute micro-lessons that are clear, practical, and designed to build progressively on one another. After watching each lesson, participants complete reflection questions that help them connect the material to their real-world context—laying the groundwork for deeper discussions in the live cohort sessions. During this time, participants also engage in partner or small group exercises, often involving practice conversations or role plays, which provide a safe space to try out new approaches and receive feedback. Additionally, they stay in touch with an assigned mentor who offers thoughtful feedback on reflections, asks follow-up questions, and helps deepen the learning experience. This combination of self-paced learning, peer interaction, and personalized mentorship ensures that the content doesn’t remain theoretical—it becomes lived. By the time participants return for the next Roadside Reflection, they bring real-world experience, not just ideas, which elevates the quality and depth of the group conversation.

We highly recommend setting aside 20–30 minutes a day to engage with the content. Taking it in bite-sized pieces not only helps prevent overload, but also allows time for deeper reflection and better retention. This isn’t a program to “cram”—it’s a journey best taken with intention and consistency. By building a regular rhythm at the beginning, you’ll set yourself up for success in the more complex destinations later.
