Current singers of the renowned New World Singers join by alumni soloists in what is sure to be an exciting evening of music. All proceeds benefit the upcoming New World Singers international tour.

Stephanie Durant is an operatic mezzo soprano that lives in Powell, Ohio with her husband and four children. She received her Bachelor of Music in opera from Northwestern University and her Master of Arts in vocal pedagogy from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. She currently teaches voice at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and her home studio. She has recently been seen on stage with Opera Columbus as the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah tour, as Frasquita in Carmen, in the Ensemble for Tosca and Maria de Buenos Aires. Prior to settling down in Central Ohio with her four children and husband, Stephanie performed many musical theater, operatic and oratorio roles around the country, including Winnie Tate (Annie Get Your Gun), Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods), Mary Ellen (Beauty and the Beast) and Mrs. Olsen (Street Scene), Israelitish Man (Judas Maccabaeus), Soprano soloist (Schubert's Mass in G). In 2022, Stephanie co-founded the Ukrainian Opera Ensemble with Mariyka Hawryluk Gordon and performs Ukrainian arias and art songs. Stephanie also sings weekly for Linworth United Methodist Church's traditional 9 AM service as a soloist and choral section leader. She is also a proud alum of the Columbus Children’s Choir under the direction of Dr. Sandy Mathias.

Ruth Peart is known for her crossover work in both classical and music theatre, Ruth Peart has studied voice for fifteen years. Ruth graduated from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music with a Master of Music degree in voice performance where she studied with Professor Kimberly Gill. Ruth also holds a certificate in vocology in which she is able to teach singers through voice building techniques. Ruth has had many successes as a recipient of the Margaret Speaks Vocal Scholarship from The Ohio State University as well as the Artistic Excellence award from the Jacobs School of Music. Ruth has performed in many productions with the Madison County Arts Council of Ohio, Jacob’s Opera and Ballet Theater, Ohio State Opera and Lyric Theater Department and more. She currently serves as a soprano schola member in Columbus’s Saint Joseph Cathedral Choir. In the fall, Ruth will be attending Ohio University to pursue a Master’s degree in speech language pathology.
