This annual Legislative Dinner brings together administrators, school board members, and education leaders for meaningful dialogue.

Join us for an insightful keynote conversation with Congressman Brad Schneider, representative of Illinois' 10th district, who will offer a timely, insider’s perspective on the evolving political dynamics in Washington, D.C. While ED-RED’s work is grounded at the state level, understanding the federal landscape is increasingly critical for local education leaders. The Congressman will share his insights on the current outlook for public education at the federal level, emerging policy proposals, and what they could mean for school districts here in Illinois.

Congressman Schneider will share his perspective on how school leaders can effectively engage in advocacy, drawing from real-world examples of successful collaboration between legislators and local districts—including innovative community partnerships that have made a tangible impact. The conversation will conclude with practical action steps designed to empower education leaders to strengthen relationships with their legislators and advocate confidently on behalf of their students, schools, and communities.
