Welcome to the 20th Annual Higher Degree Research Conference hosted by the School of Education at The University of Queensland.

This year’s theme, Education Inquiry for Thriving Communities, invites researchers from diverse disciplinary, methodological, and professional backgrounds to explore how educational research can contribute to teaching, learning, leadership, policy, equity, sustainability, innovation, and social change across formal and informal educational contexts. We welcome research that investigates contemporary challenges, generates new insights, and strengthens connections between knowledge, practice, and communities.

We are delighted to invite you, along with other postgraduate students in the field of education from across Southeast Queensland, to the 20th Annual School of Education Postgraduate Research Conference on Saturday 7 November 2026. This conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate researchers to present their work, engage in scholarly dialogue, and network with peers and experts. The conference will be held both in person at UQ’s St Lucia campus (Global Change Institute) and online.

This year's theme, "Educational Inquiry for Thriving Communities," invites researchers from diverse disciplinary, methodological, and professional backgrounds to explore how educational research can contribute to teaching, learning, leadership, policy, equity, sustainability, innovation, and social change across formal and informal educational contexts. We welcome research that investigates contemporary challenges, generates new insights, and strengthens connections between knowledge, practice, and communities.

Presentations will be allocated 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion. Abstract submissions close on Friday 11 September 2026. If you are interested in contributing a presentation, please email your 200-word abstract to s.poed@uq.edu.au. When submitting your abstract, please also indicate whether you plan to attend in person or online.
