Presentation Title: Beyond Dentistry: How AI is Reshaping the 4 Commercial Pillars of Your Practice
Most dental practice owners are exceptional clinicians. Few were ever taught how to run a business. And almost none have been shown how to use the tools now available to run that business smarter.
The AI conversation in dentistry has largely focused on the clinical layer - diagnostics, imaging, disease detection. What gets far less airtime is the commercial layer: the systems, the financials, the people, the marketing - and how AI is now reshaping all of it for independent practice owners who have never had access to these tools before.
This session works through the four commercial pillars that separate a profitable, well-run practice from one that keeps the lights on but costs the owner their time, energy, and peace of mind. Across People, Systems and Processes, Planning and Analysis, and Marketing, attendees will see exactly where AI can be applied right now - not as a future concept, but as a practical tool already in use in high-performing practices today.
Independent practice owners now have access to capabilities that were previously only available to large corporate groups. This session shows them how.
Speaker 2:
Andrew Song
Dental Lab Co-Owner, Dental Ceramist, Confident Smiles Dental Studio
Speaker Bio:
Andrew Song is a dental ceramist and Co-Founder of Confident Smiles Dental Studio, with over a decade of experience in complex restorative, cosmetic and implant cases. His experience working alongside a specialist prosthodontist gives him a unique understanding of both laboratory precision and clinical needs.
Presentation Title: Better Restorations Through Better Communication: Dentists and Labs Working Together
Andrew will reveal how better dentist–lab communication leads to better restorations, taking clinicians behind the scenes of traditional and digital crown workflows. He’ll share practical tips for capturing lab-ready preparation scans and shade photographs to achieve more predictable outcomes and fewer remakes.
