2026 Bald Archy Prize Launch Event
Description
Join us for the official launch of the 2026 Bald Archy Prize at Canberra Potters Watson Arts Centre, an evening celebrating Australia’s most irreverent and entertaining portrait prize.
Renowned for its wit, satire and sharp social commentary, the Bald Archy Prize showcases comic and satirical portraits of well-known Australians from across art, politics, sport, media and public life. The exhibition embraces humour, parody and caricature, offering a playful counterpoint to more traditional portrait awards.
The launch event will feature the announcement of the 2026 Bald Archy Prize winner and the 2025 People's Choice Award, proudly sponsored by Briggs Law, marking the first chance to see the selected works on display. Guests can enjoy drinks and light refreshments while taking in the exhibition, sharing a laugh, and celebrating contemporary Australian art in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
All are welcome to attend this special opening night.
