2026 Benalla Australia Day and Citizenship Ceremony

Australia Day in Benalla Rural City is a vibrant celebration that brings the community together to honour our nation and recognise the outstanding contributions of local residents. Community spirit shines throughout the day, with festivities that reflect our shared achievements and the rich diversity of our region.

A key highlight of the program is the Citizenship Ceremony, where we warmly welcome our newest Australians as they take their final step in becoming citizens. This moving moment embodies the values of unity, inclusiveness, and belonging.

Celebrations continue with our major Australia Day Awards, where outstanding community members are recognised for their contributions across areas such as citizen of the year, community group and young person. These awards pay tribute to individuals who exemplify the very best of our community, enriching the social, cultural, and inclusion fabric of Benalla Rural City.

Together, the Citizenship Ceremony and Australia Day Awards create a meaningful and uplifting start to the day, honouring both the achievements of long-standing residents and the exciting new journey of those joining the Australian community.
