The Blue Mountains Edible Garden Trail is a vibrant celebration of how local residents are growing food at home - strengthening food security, saving money, reducing environmental impact, and enjoying the health benefits of fresh, homegrown produce.

Over the weekend of the 14th & 15th November 2026, backyard growers from across the Blue Mountains - from small plots to large gardens - will open their spaces to the public. Visitors are invited to explore, learn, and be inspired by the many ways our community is embracing homegrown sustainability.

Excitingly, 2026 is the first to be themed. This EGT, gardens will emphasise their Containers and Challenging Spaces to highlight the wide range of opportunities to grow food and the the innovative ways edible gardeners beat the odds.

This is a community-run, not-for-profit event, proudly organised by The Blue Mountains Food Co-op, with all proceeds supporting local school and community gardens.

The Trail takes place on Darug and Gundungurra Country. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Blue Mountains and honour their deep and enduring connection to land, waters, and culture. We strive to care for country and build community with this long, rich history in mind. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded — always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
