2026 ChessPalace Scholastic Tournament
Description
ChessPalace is hosting a Scholastic chess tournament every month!
Open to students in Kindergarten to 12th grade only. US Chess Federation membership is required and can register for this membership onsite.
Details for this kids only chess tournament:
Sections (subject to change depending on the number of players)
K-12th grade Open section
K-8th grade Under 1100
K-6th grade rated Under 800
K-3rd grade Under 400
Check-in between 9:30-9:45 AM and Round 1 starts at 10 AM with awards estimated at around 4 pm. There will be 5 rounds for players.
Time control: Game 30 minutes, delay 5 seconds
Awards: Top 5 trophies awarded in each section
Entry Fee: $50+Humanitix fees ($65 onsite); Limited seats available, please sign up early.
We recommend bringing the following items or be ready to purchase onsite:
For 2nd graders and older, please bring a pen/pencils and scorebook or notebook to record the moves
Optional: if you have one, your own chess clock set to 30 min/5 sec delay
