2026 Climate Ready Hobart Forum: Seeds and Sparks
Description
A climate ready future is already emerging.
Co-hosted by the City of Hobart and the University of Tasmania, this year’s theme Seeds & Sparks celebrates the game-changing initiatives taking root across Hobart and creates the connections to help them grow.
The message from the 2025 Forum was clear: climate change presents significant risks to Hobart, real and measurable change is happening, and that we must accelerate change together.
This year, we continue the journey to:
• Discover the seeds of a climate ready Hobart.
• Spark connections between people and capabilities for ideas to flourish.
• Explore how we can scale and sustain transformation across the city and Tasmania.
The Climate Ready Hobart Forum brings together a diversity of climate leaders, practitioners and changemakers to accelerate collective action to deliver together on the 2040 Climate Ready Hobart Strategy: our community’s roadmap to a zero emission and climate resilient future.
The Forum will be held from:
09:30 - Arrival and coffee
10:00 - Opening & Welcome

This year's co-hosts
This year's Forum is co-hosted by the City of Hobart and University of Tasmania.
The University of Tasmania is #1 in climate action globally. For the fifth year in a row UTAS has been awarded with the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings awarding us number one in climate action globally for 2026.
The Forest was a natural choice for a venue as a place of climate readiness and embodiment of regeneration.
“A new forest grows in the heart of the city. A living place for connection, care and regeneration – where disciplines gather and ideas take root. Everyone is welcome in The Forest. This is a place where the next generation will grow, flourish and find their ‘why’.”
