2026 Dharmata Boston Weekend Retreat with Anam Thubten

Resting in Awareness: Finding Ground in Uncertain Times

A Meditation Retreat with Anam Thubten

Public Talk: Friday, August 14th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Two-Day Retreat: Saturday & Sunday, August 15 & 16, 10:00 am-5:00 pm

A meditation retreat can be spiritual medicine and food for the heart and mind. Entering into retreat allows us to cleanse the mind of mental patterns that block us from seeing the pure nature of reality. By letting go of various ego defenses this practice helps our hearts to open. During these wild times, our hearts can become closed by anger, fear, and disenchantment. Yet, there is a way to stay open-hearted and grounded in a higher state of consciousness, serving as an anchor for peace, equanimity, and joy.

Please join us to welcome Anam Thubten once again to Boston, MA. On August 14 - 16, 2025. He will lead this meditation retreat by offering talks and guidance drawn from the teachings of Tibetan Buddhist masters. He invites participants to explore the mind’s capacity to experience Bodhicitta—the awakened heart and mind. Through the essential wisdom of Buddhism and his personal experiences on the spiritual path, Anam Thubten brings alive the timeless teachings and invites everyone to participate.

Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and began practicing at an early age in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Among his most formative teachers were Lama Tsurlo, Khenpo Chopel, and Lama Garwang. His work draws deeply on the Dudjom Lingpa lineage. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of the Dharmata Foundation and author of Voice of the Primordial Buddha: A Commentary on Dudjom Lingpa’s Sharp Vajra of Awareness Tantra, Into the Haunted Ground, No Self, No Problem, and The Citadel of Awareness. His latest book is Releasing the Knot of the Mind: Instructions on Resting in Stillness and Awareness, published by Shambhala Publications.
