Turning Your Research into Evidence-Based Policy Change
A free hybrid workshop hosted by UNSW’s Forced Migration Research Network and UNSW's Refugee Trauma and Recovery Program. How can your research make a difference beyond academia? Join expert speakers who have successfully translated research into evidence-based policy and real-world change, from improving services for refugees to shaping educational pathways and advancing human rights. Drawing on diverse case studies, expert speakers will discuss the successes, strategies and challenges of turning evidence into action. Topics include refugee mental health and trauma, the Refugee Student Settlement Pathway, advocacy for protection pathways for LGBTIQA+ communities, and advancing the rights of people with lived experience of forced displacement. Open to PhD students and early career researchers interested in research impact and policy engagement. Supported by the UNSW School of Humanities and Languages, the UNSW School of Social Sciences, and the UNSW Forced Migration Research Network.
