Event Description:
The Geelong Regional Engineers Group (GREG) has been honoured to host this year’s Engineers Weekend.
The Engineers Weekends are held by various Regional Engineering groups annually, with each regional group taking turns in hosting this event in their regional centre. The program runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, with the highlight on Saturday evening being a semi-formal dinner with presentations from a couple of guest speakers. This Engineers Weekend provides engineers the opportunity to connect with other regional engineers for fellowship, networking and continued professional development.
The weekend is open to all GREG members, Engineers Weekend Past Regular attendees, IPWEA members and their spouse/partners. Weekend is also opened to current and past practicing engineers, practitioners associated with the engineering profession and non-members.
The weekend consist of several events throughout the weekend starting from Friday evening 9th Oct 2026 through to Sunday Lunch on the 11th October 2026.
One can choose to attend one or several or all of the events throughout the weekend. Just select the event that you wish to attend and the number of tickets required.
For those coming to Geelong and staying either one of two nights, discounted accommodation has been negotiated and can be booked directly with Eden Oak, quoting that you are attending the Engineers Weekend
Eden Oak is a contemporary accommodation venue located at 20 Adams Ct, East Geelong VIC 3219, located in Geelong’s Eastern Park right next door to the East Geelong Golf Club. The Geelong Botanical Gardens are also located in Eastern Park adjacent to the East Geelong Golf Club.

Saturday 10th October 2026 – 10:15am
Tour of National Wool Museum 26 Moorabool St, Geelong VIC 3220 tour (approx. 1 hour)
Saturday 10th October 2026 – 11:45am
Lunch at Wharf Shed, Geelong Waterfront, Eastern Beach Road.
Saturday 10th October 2026 – 1:30pm
Energy of Geelong Bus Excursion:
Pickup by Hydrogen powered bus to CDC Bus Depot for a talk on the H2 bus and its business operations
Next stop, at the Viva Energy Hydrogen Refuelling Hub for tour of the H2 hub and the H2 production process.
A bus tour around the Viva Energy Refinery (ex-Shell Refinery) perimeter with commentary provided by Viva Energy personnel.
Return to Geelong Waterfront pickup point enroute to see the Spirit of Tasmania ferry Terminal
Saturday 10th October 2026 – 6:30pm
Evening presentation and dinner with guest speakers. Inclusive of Welcome drinks, pre-dinner platters and 2 course dinner.
Sunday 11th October 2026 – 10:15am
Guided tour of historic Fyanford Mill, 100 Lower Paper Mills Rd, Fyansford VIC 3218
Sunday 11th October 2026 – 11:30am
