Event: Respect Starts with Us 2026
Description
Georges River Council is proud to deliver its annual student-focused event, aligned with the NSW Curriculum. Council recognises the importance of supporting young people to build healthy, respectful relationships and to promote gender equality.
This event will align with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and acknowledge the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.
A co-design workshop was held with local high school students to shape an event that reflects and complements their learning about respectful relationships. Student representatives provided valuable input across a range of event elements, helping to ensure the program is engaging, relevant and youth-focused. Council is excited to bring these ideas to life and amplify the voices and perspectives of young people through the event.
