2026 Great Cane Toad Bust - ECOllaboration Event

The Great Cane Toad Bust is Australia’s biggest toad bust! For one week every year, Watergum are challenging Australians to tadpole trap by day and toad bust by night.

Cane toads are toxic at every life stage and prolific breeders. By getting involved and taking action to remove toads and clean up your environment, you can create a safe haven for wildlife and pets.

ECOllaboration will be doing our part by holding an evening cane toad bust at Nambour Christian College on Tuesday 20th January 2026 from 6.30-8.15 pm. Join us to help reduce toad numbers and leave a lasting positive impact on the local environment!

The event is free and includes:

• collecting cane toads (bags and gloves provided)

• witnessing cane toad tadpole traps in action

• a native frog spotting and identification session. If we are lucky, this will be your chance to see laughing tree frogs, striped marsh frogs, tusk frogs, sedge frogs and more!

Meeting point details will be provided via email closer to the event. Don't forget to wear long pants and fully enclosed shoes, plus bring insect repellent and a water bottle.

You can learn a bit more about cane toads in preparation for the event by visiting our website.

See you soon, remember - every toad counts!
