2026 GreenSTEM Ignite Fair Awards Ceremony
Description
Join us for the GreenSTEM Ignite 2026 Awards Ceremony as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of student scientists, engineers, technologists and innovators from across Tasmania.
Following two incredible days of the GreenSTEM Ignite Science Fair 2026, students from primary and secondary schools across the state have been selected for recognition across a wide range of STEM disciplines and special award categories.
The Awards Ceremony will bring students, families, educators, schools, volunteers, partners and supporters together to recognise the curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and hard work demonstrated throughout Ignite 2026.
Awards will celebrate achievement across areas including:
Science investigations across Biomedical and Health Sciences, Physics and Energy, Chemical and Molecular Sciences, Materials Science, and Earth, Environmental and Agricultural Sciences
Engineering Projects
Technology Enhances the Arts
Sustainability
Community Impact
Traditional Knowledges
Lateral Thinking
Major awards recognising outstanding young scientists, engineers and STEM explorers
Importantly, schools and families may already have been advised that a student or project has been selected for recognition, but the exact award or placing will remain a surprise until it is announced during the ceremony.
The evening is about much more than prizes. It is an opportunity to celebrate young people asking great questions, testing ideas, solving problems, communicating their thinking and seeing themselves as people who can contribute to the future through STEM.
We warmly invite recognised students, their families, teachers, school communities, judges, volunteers, sponsors and supporters to join us in celebrating an exceptional year of student STEM achievement.
Date: Tuesday 8 September 2026
Attendance is free, but registration is requested for all attendees to assist with seating and event planning.
We also ask schools and families of recognised students to carefully check the student names and project details provided by GreenSTEM Education and let us know as soon as possible if any corrections are required before certificates are finalised.
The GreenSTEM Ignite program is made possible through the extraordinary support of our partners, sponsors, schools, educators, volunteers and wider community. We look forward to celebrating the students who made Ignite 2026 such a memorable showcase of STEM learning.
This is a free and accessible family and community event. If you’re in a position to contribute, your support is greatly appreciated and helps make future GreenSTEM programs and opportunities possible.
