Description

Join us for the official launch of a new four-year research project exploring Australia's most talked-about national conversations — and meet the team behind it.

The project is led by Dhudhuroa and Wamba Wemba woman Dr Jen Mason, an early career researcher at ANU, with Professors Dean Lusher (Swinburne), Tanya Jakimow (ANU), Dominic O'Sullivan (CSU) and Robert Ackland (ANU). Together they examine how we engage with questions of reconciliation, history and national belonging, and ask whether a deeper understanding of First Peoples' histories can enrich the way we talk with one another.

This is a project about listening as much as asking: not about telling Australians what to think, but about understanding how we might disagree more openly and more respectfully. At the launch, the team will share the project's vision, the people they're working with, and what lies ahead.

Broadcast in partnership with CMS Radio, the event reflects a commitment to sharing research beyond the university and opening it to the whole community. Whether you're drawn by the ideas, the many views Australians hold, or what comes next — you're warmly invited to join the conversation.

Presented in partnership with CMS Radio, the College of Arts and Social Sciences and Immersia, the flagship festival of the ANU School of Culture, History & Language (CHL) within the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP)

This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council (Discovery Indigenous, IN260100178). The views expressed are those of the researchers and are not necessarily those of the Australian Government or the Australian Research Council.

Please note: If you require accessibility accommodations or a visitor Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan please contact the event organisers.
