2026 Immigration Updates - Wellington 

Join us for an Immigration Law Update session, where Special Counsel Nicky Robertson and Solicitor Sophie Phillips will discuss recent immigration developments, including initial guidance on the resident visa changes coming into effect in August 2026.

We will discuss:

  • Resident visa applications – reminders on current requirements and an overview of the upcoming August changes

  • Changes to work rights – An update on the changes to work rights for people on open work visas

  • Changes to occupations that can obtain five-year visas – Including a re-cap on moving from ANZSCO to the National Occupation List

  • Varying existing AEWVs – Changes to the process
