3:10pm – Andrea Tomkinson – Victorian Planning Reform: Understanding the Changes Under Better Decisions Made Faster

An overview of the major planning reforms arising from the State Government’s Housing Statement (2023), Plan for Victoria (2025) and the Planning Amendment Act 2026, examining their implications for surveyors and the development process, including housing targets, the Development Facilitation Program, restrictive covenants, tiered permit streams, permit-free subdivisions, canopy tree provisions, the 60 Activity Centres initiative and the implementation of Treaty.

3:40pm – Adam Criddle – Section 35(8) Subdivision Plans: A Central Bendigo Case Study

A practical case study examining the preparation and application of a plan under Section 35(8) of the Subdivision Act 1988 in central Bendigo, exploring the surveying, legal and procedural considerations involved and the practical challenges encountered in delivering a compliant outcome.
