Mental Health First Aid Course

Welcome to this Mental Health First Aid Course presented by Culturise in partnership with AEN SA.
Would you know how to help if a friend, colleague or family member was experiencing a mental health problem?
Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training program that teaches participants how to recognise the signs of mental ill-health, provide initial support, and connect people with appropriate professional help.
Over two face-to-face training days, participants gain practical skills that can be used to support adults in the workplace, at home and in the community.
Duration:
Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th October: 9am - 4pm
Outcome:
Participants who complete the course and a short assessment become accredited Mental Health First Aiders for three years.
What You'll Learn
Participants will learn how to:
Recognise common signs and symptoms of mental health problems
Approach someone who may be struggling with their mental health
Provide initial support using the evidence-based MHFA Action Plan
Respond appropriately to mental health crises
Encourage professional help and other support options
Communicate in a supportive, respectful and non-judgemental way
No prior knowledge or experience is required.
Investment (including course materials, morning tea and lunch)
AEN SA Members: $375 per participant + GST
Non-Members: $425 per participant + GST
This is a catered event. Places are limited and early registration is recommended.
