2026 Melanoma and Skin Cancer Nurse Symposium

Join Melanoma Institute Australia for our annual Melanoma and Skin Cancer Nurse Symposium — a full-day educational symposium designed for nurses involved in the care of patients with skin cancer.

This symposium, chaired by Shahn Coburn and Michelle Rosano, will explore how nurses shape patient outcomes across the full continuum of care, from patient education and prevention to advanced treatment and survivorship. Through expert-led presentations, practical case discussions and interactive sessions, attendees will gain up-to-date knowledge and real-world strategies to enhance clinical practice and patient education.

• Sunscreen explained: Practical guidance for patient education - Dr Annika Smith (Dermatologist)

• The emerging role of TILs therapy in melanoma - Rebecca Johnson (National Melanoma Nurses Program Manager)

• Early warning signs of immunotherapy toxicity: Case scenarios - Prof Georgina Long AO (Medical Oncologist) and Aled Gaynor (Med Onc CNC) and Olivia van Schouwen (Med Onc CNC)

• Vulval and anal mucosal melanoma: Multidisciplinary team discussion - Dr Thomas Pennington (Surgical Oncologist), Prof Alexander Menzies (Medical Oncologist), Dr Robert Rawson (Pathologist) and Natalie Foster (Melanoma/Surgical Oncology CNC)

Cost: $100 (+ GST). Ticket prices includes all catering.

Parking: Limited free street parking may be available. Discounted paid parking ($10) will be available onsite at The Poche Centre (entry via Rocklands Rd). Public transport is encouraged.

CPD: A Certificate of Attendance will be given for 5.5 hrs after the event for your own CPD records.
