A Winter Aria

Prepare for the St Michael’s roof to be lifted clean off its rafters as we welcome some of Australia’s biggest voices into Wollombi village. 

Internationally acclaimed tenor Brad Cooper flies into Wollombi direct from the grand concert halls of Europe, bringing powerhouse vocals to our tiny village stage.

Breathtaking soprano Clarissa Spata brings her extraordinary energy and commanding stage presence from the stages of Opera Australia and The Voice Australia.

Together, they will ignite the world’s most beloved arias in an intimate concert set within the charming and historic St Michael's Church.

Warm up the afternoon with Wollombi SIP and enjoy complimentary wine and canapés in the beautiful garden at Grays Inn.

2pm - The Performance, St Michael’s Church

As the church bells ring through the village, make your way to St Michael's for the performance featuring two half-hour sets with an interval. Expect goosebumps.

3:30pm - Post Performance Soirée, Wollombi General Store

Gather at the Wollombi General Store for an early winter supper, mingle and savour the unique opera experience.

THE FULL INDULGENCE

4pm - Welcome Drinks, Grays Inn Garden

Cross the road and be welcomed with a beautiful glass of champagne as you settle in for an indulgent winter feast. Be spoilt by this extraordinary opera experience as we continue to celebrate our special Wollombi village.

IT'S A FUNDRAISER - The Church of St Michael’s

This event is all about raising funds for our much-loved St Michael's Church building. We’re thrilled to bring the community together to celebrate this precious and historic building, owned by our community, for our community.

St Michael’s was constructed in 1840 from locally sourced, hand-hewn sandstone and stands as an enduring testament to the area’s heritage. Originally established as a Catholic church, the building was sold in 1991, when local families came together to purchase it and preserve it as an important community hub.

Since then, it has been lovingly restored and maintained by the committee and members of The Friends of St Michael’s.

The St Michael’s church building belongs to all of us to use, love, protect and enjoy for generations to come.
