2026 Reidy Rough Night In
Description
The Reidy Rough Night In is a sleep out that was developed in consultation with staff from Brisbane Youth Service and our Campus Ministry team.
During your son’s time at Terrace, they are provided with many opportunities and challenges which allow them to grow and mature into Terrace Gentlemen. Reidy House students in Years 7 and 8 are asked to volunteer to ‘rough it’ for a night. The boys will forego technology, a big dinner and comfortable bed, and will instead sleep outside in the secure ‘Breakout Area’ of the Waterford Place campus. This is a wonderful chance to help our boys develop empathy and understanding of the prevalent homelessness issue in our local and wider communities while also raising funds for our friendship group, Brisbane Youth Service. Limited capacity to get in quick!
Cost: There is no cost for students to be involved however all participants are asked to raise a minimum of $50. All money raised will be donated directly to Brisbane Youth Service.
What to bring: Warm clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle and toothbrush.
What NOT to bring: Computers, phones, IPads, lollies, chocolates, snacks etc.
Food: Part of the experience of sleeping rough is to not have a large meal in the evening. Students will be offered a cup of soup and bread roll (gluten free available) for dinner. In the morning they will have a sausage and egg breakfast like the one offered daily to Brisbane’s homeless community by the Terrace Eddie’s Van.
