About the 2026 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge
The 2026 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge returns to Adelaide from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 April 2026 at the State Basketball Stadium in Wayville.
The World Challenge will see the Australian Steelers take the court, coming up against heavy hitters from around the globe: USA, Great Britain, Germany and Brazil.
But the action doesn't stop there!
The World Challenge is a true festival of wheelchair rugby with the National Championship and Juniors competition being held at the same time and same place. Be part of history and cheer for both the Australian Steelers and your state team without changing seats in what will be one of the largest wheelchair rugby events in the world.
National Championship Division 1 teams: New South Wales Gladiators, Suncorp Queensland Cyclones, Protect Victoria Thunder.
National Championship Division 2 teams: Suncorp Queensland Tornadoes, West Coast Enforcers, Australian Capital Territory Buccaneers, South Australia Sharks and Kenya’s national team.
Full Event, Day and Session Passes are available for each day of the competition, including dedicated Steelers Primetime Sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, culminating in Finals Day on Sunday.
Wheelchair Seating: Wheelchair seating is available at the venue. Once you select your tickets, you will be prompted on checkout to indicate how many people require access to the wheelchair seating area (this includes family, support workers or carers). Broadcast: This event will be broadcast live. Attendees may appear in the broadcast and other promotional photos and videos for the event.
