Showcasing Indigenous Scholarship: Black Knowing Seminar Series: The Disappeared Project

Join us during National Missing Persons Week for a groundbreaking seminar that confronts the crisis of Indigenous disappearance in this country. There is little scholarship on the numbers of ‘missing’ and murdered Indigenous men, women and children. And yet, there are many Black families who have been affected, and who are still fighting for justice for their loved ones. This panel will bring together the families of the disappeared in conversation with Carumba Institute academics and Indigenous-led missing persons organisation ‘The Disappeared Project’.

About The Disappeared Project

The Disappeared Project is an Indigenous-led organisation dedicated to supporting families of missing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, improving data and accountability, and ensuring disappeared Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are remembered, represented, and searched for with dignity and justice.
