The Field Day is a hands-on, outdoor learning experience to help you better understand your property, explore actionable stewardship options, and connect directly with trusted professionals. Over the years, these field days have helped thousands of property owners reduce risks, avoid costly mistakes, increase enjoyment, and support the long-term health and direction of their forest.

Field Day When and Where

The Field Day is Saturday, August 8th, 2026
Gates and exhibits open at 8:00 a.m.
Field Day sessions run hourly from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Field Day location will be at a private property on the northern side of Vashon Island. The address is 17012 90th Ave SW.
Water, snacks, and portable restrooms will be available on site. Lunch is not provided. Please pack a lunch.

Cost and Registration of the Field Day

The registration fee is $20 per individual or $35 per couple from the same household/ownership.
Youth under 18 may attend at no charge.
Pre-registration is required – registration will NOT be available on site.
Registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6th.
Cancellation requests must be received by 5:00 p.m. August 6th, 2026, to be eligible for a refund. For online registrations, credit card processing fees are non-refundable.

King Conservation District (KCD) Vashon Forest Tour - FREE

Immediately following the field day sessions

Join us for a free, forest tour, hosted by the Vashon Cohousing Group, King Conservation, and WSU Extension, to see how your neighbors on Vashon are caring for their forestland. The tour will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Vashon Cohousing Complex.
You will learn about stewardship activities such as thinning and planting, how to manage your forest for wildlife habitat, how to decide what work to do yourself vs when to hire a contractor, how to make management decisions with multiple owners, and more!
Pre-registration is required for the KCD Forest Tour, and space is limited. Tour specific details will be sent to those that registered for the tour, closer to the event.
Snacks and water will be provided. Please bring a water bottle. We will be walking through the forest understory, on uneven ground. Please dress accordingly.
